Whoops

Lat night was a hot mess that left me with ZERO time to workout.  Got home, had to pick the little guy up from gymnastics at the Y, came home, scarfed down some very unhealthy dinner, had parent-teacher conference at the little guys school, went to Scouts with the big guy!  Got home after 9pm, went to bed and passed out!!!  If you know me, you know my ideal bedtime is 8pm.  Anything past that and I'm a hot mess!  Today is another day!

Exercise on!

So, I didn't do DDPY everyday over the weekend but I did exercise everyday.  Friday night I did DDPY.  Saturday night I played a hockey game....we won 4-0, and Sunday I went for a hike with my youngest son's Cub Scout Pack.  I'm sad to say that the just over a mile hike had my hips on fire!  More motivation to keep the momentum going!  We're headed into Thanksgiving and then into my oldest son's surgery.  I may have to miss a day or two - definitely no more - due to having guests on Thanksgiving and then being on the road traveling to Shriners in Philadelphia. Here's my proof of completion from Friday's work out!

On a roll

Ok, I'm on a roll...two days in a roll.  Last night I was really feeling it too.  I was in my target heartrate range 46% of the time.  What I've learned from starting over so many times is that the harder you push, the more you get out of it.  The workouts I'm currently doing aren't technically hard but WOW, I get winded, my appendages shake...it just shows what terrible shape I'm in.  Here's to days 3, 4, and 5!!!

BAM!!

Bam!!  Made sure I hit the mat last night.  Got everything done with the kids, got one to bed while the older son watched me workout.  I'm doing this so that as he grows, I'll be able to manage him whenever and where ever we are.  Having kids is one thing, having a kid with mobility issues is a completely different animal.  There are times I need to lift him and he's no wilting violet.  At 12 years old and over 80 lbs, this mama struggles!  But, I'm determined to get in shape so that when we're at Scout camp or really anywhere else, I can move him around, as need be, with ease and without worrying about throwing my back out.  Getting to be as heavy as I am (204 lbs) didn't happen overnight and taking it off won't happen fast either.  I'm changing what I eat, removing processed foods and carbs, eating more veggies and non-red meat.  And, drinking  more water.  I struggle with that as I'm not a huge plain-old water fan.  I p...

Damn

I couldn't even do two consecutive days.  In my defense though, I did something I typically NEVER do!  I went all domestic.  I made bone broth in the crock pot, scallops and asparagus for dinner that was hot and damn near ready when Andrea walked through the door, made banana bread with some slowly dying bananas, AND...made chicken salad from a Costco rotisserie chicken I bough on Sunday.  For me that's like a MONTHs worth of kitchen activity!  I'm pretty darned proud of myself but by the time I was done and helped Jake (7th grade) finish off labeling his 3D cell for science class, it was past my bedtime.  I've come to realize that staying up past 8:30pm-ish for ANY reason is just not a good idea for me.  If I actually can fall asleep by 8:30pm, I'd get close to 8 hours of sleep.  That RARELY happens so I'm always living on borrowed time.  I find that when I get a decent amount of sleep, my body hurts less...thanks (read FU!!!) breast cancer/...

Day one - week one

Yesterday  I did it.  I started over.  From Day 1.  I'm not gonna lie and say I did what was on the "schedule".  I actually wound up doing Fat Burner 2.0!!!  Totally didn't mean to do that one, I wanted to do Energy 2.0 but clicked the wrong workout.  Once I got into it, it was too late to stop!  Tonight, I'm going to re-do my measurements and take my photos.  Keeping in mind my goals: Goal weight 140 Current weight 204.6 Complete 100 Consecutive Days of DDPY!!! Day 1.....COMPLETE!!!

Struggle Bus

I'm not gonna lie.  I haven't worked out in weeks.  Every night I go to bed thinking, maybe I should've stayed up and done DDP and then I fall asleep shortly thereafter.  There just aren't enough functional hours in my day!  I get up at 4am, at work by 7am - with an hour drive which is an improvement over an almost 2 hour public transportation commute, home by 4:15pm then after school activities take over.  Scouts, Gymnastics, Piano Lessons, Power Soccer, Boccia, Hockey.... It's a lot to squeeze in and still get enough rest.  Funny thing though.  I know if I was working out I'd have more energy and just feel better in general.  It's a vicious cycle.  I know I wouldn't be so tired if I worked out but I too tired to workout!!!  UGH!!!!!  I'm going to try get started again this coming week.  I always have to keep in mind the inspiring words of Yoda and DDP....do or do not, there is no try.....and....If you say you can or you say...
